News 12 ივნისი 2025

The international research organization, SME Banking Agency, has named Terabank among Georgian banks, based on its assessment of sustainable finance activities within the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) sector.

Terabank's MSME strategy was developed in 2023 with the support of the European Investment Bank (EIB) and served as the foundation for a service model that supports the growth and competitiveness of the MSME sector. Notably, shortly after the updated strategy was introduced, the bank was recognized as one of the leading institutions in this area.

Additionally, in 2024, the EIB launched a 14-month technical assistance program titled "Green Gateway – Greening Financial Systems Technical Assistance Programme (GFS TAP)." As part of this initiative, Terabank worked on developing a framework for climate risk management and green financing.

The agency’s representatives reviewed in detail the bank’s ESG activities, annual reports, and initiatives focused on the SME segment. The assessment methodology is based on an in-depth analysis of SME-related operations of banks in Armenia, Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia, using more than 35 criteria and evaluation parameters.

"We are pleased to recognize Terabank as one of the top leading financial institutions in the Sustainable Finance in SME category in Georgia. This achievement reflects the bank’s consistent efforts to support small and medium-sized enterprises. Terabank’s commitment to sustainability is a valuable contribution to the development of a more resilient and inclusive economy.” - Andrii Hidulian, founder of SME Banking Agency.

According to the agency’s evaluation, Terabank, based on its current achievements and proactive efforts, has strong potential to secure a place among the top 20 SME banks in the region in the near future.
