Terabank's Chief Financial Officer, Sophie Jugeli, shared Terabank’s experience in financing green, inclusive and economic growth as well as the bank’s projects implemented in these directions with participants at the European Investment Bank (EIB) Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Conference which was dedicated to this topic.
During her speech, Ms. Jugeli highlighted several important initiatives: Saasargeblo.ge, which is one of Terabank’s social responsibility projects and helps small and medium-sized businesses to easily digitize their activities and implement innovative solutions while at the same time making a significant contribution to the development of the SaaS industry in general. She also spoke about Terabank's new MSME strategy which was developed with the support of the EIB and has played an important role in creating a service model that serves to increase the competitiveness and development of the MSME sector. She also highlighted the recently signed agreement with the Dutch Entrepreneurial Development Bank (FMO) according to which Terabank will facilitate access to financial resources for micro, small and medium businesses by participating in the FMO's NASIRA guarantee program.
Speaking at the conference, Sophie Jugeli made special emphasis on supporting women entrepreneurs. She talked about another of Terabank’s projects which enabled and created branding for five women owners of family hotels in Racha-Lechkhumi and promoting their activities in the future. This project also won an award at the Meliora business awards in one of the event’s main nominations - support to small businesses and affected sectors during the COVID-19 pandemic - for the Tera's Online Catalog for 100 Georgian Businesses project which also was named an outstanding project by Meliora 2022. Terabank also received a certificate in the “Honest Activity in the Market” for the catalog project.
Sophie Jugeli also spoke about Terabank’s support for small and medium-sized businesses in general with various services, products, and opportunities that the bank offers them within the framework of the programs of the Rural Development Agency and Enterprise Georgia. Specific attention was paid to the information meetings and webinars that contribute to raising the awareness of business customers.
The EIB MSME Conference was held by the European Investment Bank (EIB) group in cooperation with the Representation of the European Union in Georgia. The event was attended by representatives of the public and private sectors, the European Union and banking and financial institutions.
